The kendo sword is the main weapon used in swordplay.
The sword and the player's armor are always blue (if a player is player 2, then red), but in duel and showdown, the player can unlock a purple sword if they reach a sufficient skill level.
To the dismay of some players, the sword is merely plastic and cannot seriously hurt an opponent.
To unlock the purple Kendo Sword you first need to beat the champion, Matt. After you beat Matt, hold '1' in the Mii selection screen and press "OK". Release '1' when the warning screen pops up
