Wedge Island Above

Wedge Island, where the "resort" holes are played.

The golf course is where the first nine holes in golf in Wii Sports Resort are played. The course is located on Wedge Island. Another golf course is also playable in the game, made up of the original nine holes in Wii Sports.

The golf course is divided into three areas: Golf Area AGolf Area B and Golf Area C.

Legend:

Distance:

Par 3 Holes: 130-230 yards

Par 4 Holes: 230-440 yards

Par 5 Holes: 440-600 yards

Scores:

4 or more shots over par: +4 and so on (after par times 3 shots, the player is forced to give up that hole, scoring +6, +8, or +10)

Triple Bogey: +3

Double Bogey: +2

Bogey: +1

Par: 0

Birdie: -1

Eagle: -2

Albatross: -3

Wind Speeds: Any number between 0-30MPH and 0-13 m/s (in MPH realize that the wind won't blow in odd numbers)

In Normal Golf and Frisbee Golf, all Par 3 holes can be done in a hole in one. If you overshoot in classic golf, you could finish in fewer shots, just make sure you don't put spin on the ball or minimize the deviation of its path as much as possible, or you'll likely go out of bounds.

"Resort" holes[]

  • Hole 1: A par 4. It is very straight, with a little slope at the start. It is a very simple hole. There is also a small pond near the very beginning. In Frisbee Golf, the pond closes with a metal grate sliding across it, presumably to guide inexperienced or first-time players. Distance is about 395-401 yards (387 for Frisbee).
  • Hole 2: A par 3. The fairway goes downhill, which makes a slide to the to the green, with the ocean to the right and a pond in the back-left. For some odd reason, the bunker on the front-right, when shown on the radar/map, is dimly lit/colored. Distance is about 147-156 yards. You could get lucky here in the Frisbee Golf mode, which is 146 yards.
  • Hole 3: A par 5. A beach makes a gigantic bunker that is sometimes reachable off the tee shot. The hole curves right at that bunker, then doglegs right again towards the hole surrounded by 3 bunkers. Distance is about 521-535 yards (525 for Frisbee).
  • Hole 4: A par 3. The fairway starts at the right of the tee and curls around to the left due to the water at the beginning of the course. Using the wrong club is easy to hit the ball into this water hazard. Distance is about 160-175 yards (160 for Frisbee).
  • Hole 5: A par 5. The fairway cuts right then left at the beginning of the hole, making an ’S’ with a large pine tree in the middle of the fairway. With enough power, one can go over the out-of-bounds area and avoid the tree and fairway movement altogether. The hole crosses water onto an island, and the green is actually quite oddly shaped. The fairway on that island is quite elevated. There are multiple pin locations along this large hill. Distance is about 561-580 yards (560 for Frisbee). This is one of the longest holes in this particular game.
  • Hole 6: A par 4. The fairway moves in a Z, fading right, cutting almost directly left, and then cutting right again downslope to the green. You must avoid that bird-shaped bunker around 250-270 yards away from the tee (just above the number 6 in the picture below). This is the only hole in the resort holes where you cannot get a water hazard. Distance is about 404-430 yards (408 for Frisbee).
  • Hole 7: A par 4. The fairway is separated into two sides. The shorter left side has mostly rough with two fairly large bunker and one small patch of grass (Looks like Hole 12's shortcut but a little smaller.), while the right half is mainly fairway with many trees to block your shot at the island green. There is also a tiny stretch of rough that could be your helping hand if you screw up. Distance is about 386-400 yards (388 for Frisbee).
  • Hole 8: A par 3. The shape of the course is kind of like a spiral or a swirl. The green sits far downhill, and is almost surrounded by water. An inaccurate hit could send the ball swimming. Just like hole 7, there is also a tiny stretch of rough. In the resort holes, this is the only hole with no bunkers. Distance is about 150-165 yards (154 for Frisbee).
  • Hole 9: A par 5. The fairway goes uphill that crests at a pine tree. Some people try and hit lightly on the first shot then send the ball downhill on their next shot. With the right wind, one can go over the pond that sits before the green in two strokes, but otherwise, the fairway moves down towards the water, with the green sitting past it, surrounded by 4 bunkers. Distance is about 555-580 yards (558 for Frisbee). This is one of the longest holes in this particular game. In the resort holes, this is the hole with the most bunkers (7).

"Classic" holes[]

  • Hole 10: A par 4. The straightest and the most straightforward hole in the game. Try to avoid the trap on the left. At the most you can get full wind but still end up 40 yards short. Distance is about 370-384 yards (369 in Frisbee).
  • Hole 11: A par 3. The elevation in this hole is rather straight. In Frisbee Golf, if your timing is just right, it's very easy to get a hole in one on this hole. However in Golf, the default aim is left of the trap. Do not do that as it will affect your chance to get a Birdie. Distance is about 130-145 yards (134 for Frisbee). This is one of the shortest holes in the game.
  • Hole 12: This par 5 has a dogleg, with a rough cutting in, then uphill to the green. There are two ponds in the "out-of-bounds" area. A hidden fairway can lead to Albatrosses. However, an Albatross can be obtained even without the shortcut. Distance is about 454-470 yards (458 for Frisbee).
  • Hole 13: A par 3. This hole takes place on a cliff. It's easy to get a hole in one here in Frisbee Golf, but if you throw it too hard, the only thing that saves you from going off the cliff is actually hitting the hole. If in Golf, you should take note that the defaults aim is also very risky as either pin location could lead to a sand trap. Distance is about 135-147 yards (134 for Frisbee).
  • Hole 14: A par 5. The course is shaped like a "C". Probably the only game recorded where you can get an "eagle" without getting a hole in one. If you have a wind with you, you cut through the dogleg and go all the way to beside all the trees, which also gives you a good chance of an Albatross. You could overshoot into the trees, but any kind of spin will risk getting into the water. Distance is about 356-370 yards (355 for Frisbee). Despite its distance comparable to that of a par 4 hole, this one is classified as a par 5 hole most probably because of its layout. Therefore, this is the shortest par 5 hole in this particular game.
  • Hole 15: A par 4, a river splits the course in two. It's not the same one as the first special hole, Hole 19. Be careful not to end up in the trap or else it can blow your eagle opportunity. Also take note that you can also go take the shortcut if you have a good wind with you. Distance is about 335-350 yards (335 for Frisbee).
  • Hole 16: A par 4. This hole makes a sharp turn to the right and goes through a little rough to the hole. You could use a very good shortcut that can lead you straight to the hole. Take note of all those trees! This is the only hole that isn't a par 3 hole that can be done in a hole in one, wind may or may not help. Distance is about 249-260 yards (246 for Frisbee).
  • Hole 17: A par 3. This hole has a tiny valley or narrow passage that could potentially send you into the water. The are two bunkers at the back to slow you down from getting into the water in case you overshoot. This is the longest par 3 hole in this particular game. To get a hole in one, or a good chance to get a hole in one, you may or may not need a nice strong wind that blows toward the hole or the wind blows from behind you. Any wind that blows against you makes this hole harder to finish. Distance is about 207-226 yards (211 for Frisbee).
  • Hole 18: A par 5. This course is made up of five islands, with the last island being the one with the hole. Extremely hard to avoid the water hazards. There is also a very grand shortcut that can give you an Albatross, but don’t underestimate that hole as you could land out of bounds too. Distance is about 452-470 yards (449 for Frisbee). However, the distance in normal golf is quite debatable because most of the time, the distance is 455 yards.

"Special" holes[]

  • Hole 19: A par 4. A stream cuts the course in two. It is not to be confused with Hole 15. Otherwise, it's not so "special" as the name suggests. Distance is about 375-390 yards (378 for Frisbee)
  • Hole 20: A par 4. Rocks block the ball/Frisbee from going out of bounds. However, you could go out of bounds here, if you do so, it must be an extremely unlucky shot. Distance is about 325-340 yards (332 for Frisbee)
  • Hole 21: A par 4. This course is quite straight and narrow. It starts with a long stretch of rough before the fairway starts and zig-zags between 5 bean-shaped bunkers in a pentagon formation. It then finishes at another bean-shaped bunker and a giant "C"-shaped bunker surrounding the "C"-shaped green. Beyond the green is the ocean. The green for this course has so many slopes, because it slopes in a bowl shape. In Frisbee Golf this is not a problem, but in classic golf, it's a big problem. To finish this hole in fewer shots in Frisbee Golf, and normal golf in general, just hope that you get good, strong winds to blow the Frisbee/Golf ball further. Distance is about 420-440 yards (419 for Frisbee)
