The Wii series has become one of the best-selling video game franchises, with each game in the Wii series selling millions of copies. The Wii Sports series, in particular, is regarded as the best-selling video game series of all time.[1] Wii Fit, within 18 months by June 2009, helped health games generate revenues of $2 billion, most of which was grossed by Wii Fit's 18.22 million sales at the time.[2] The largest subset of the franchise is the Wii Sports sub-series.[3] The games and the total sales for the Wii Sports series are reported bellow:

The first game in the series and was a launch game for the Wii console. The game was sold bundled with the console in all regions except Japan and South Korea. Wii Sports is known for starting a new development direction for Nintendo involving simple gameplay, simple graphics, and motion control. It is currently the best-selling video game of all time.[4]

The sports in this game are: Baseball, Boxing, Tennis, Bowling and Golf (The last two sports returned in Wii Sports Resort). The game has a Fitness Test and a Training Mode.

Successor to Wii Sports. It is one of the first titles to require the Wii MotionPlus accessory, which was bundled with the game. Though the game was originally a standalone title, it is now bundled with the Wii console.

The game doesn't have the practice and physical test modes, but had new 10 sports plus Bowling and Golf that return from the previous game. In addition, each sport have from one to three minigames.

Wii Sports Club is the third installment of the Wii Sports series that will features the minigames of Wii Sports will be remade in HD for the Wii U console. They can be purchased separately or bought together. Like the the previous title, in Wii Sports Club the Wii MotionPlus must be used.[7] Online multiplayer is added as well.[8]
